FOUR BEDROOM HOME FOR A FAMILY

We entered the role of 'renovators' with trepidation, having put it off for over three years and having been fed the horror stories of many who had renovated before us. I admit the two things which initially influenced our decision to go with Million Dollar Makeovers was their promise of a rapid completion and the excellent experience of a neighbour who had used them on a couple of occasions.

Once we met Sasha and her team we somehow knew we had made the right decision. Their personal approach to our project at once made us feel comfortable. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and throughout the entire process made sure that this was achieved to our satisfaction. Our project was huge and to expect it to finish within four weeks was always unrealistic and we directed Sasha to take her time as we were more interested in a good outcome. Despite that and delays caused by the council and other unforeseen dramas inherent in renovating an old house, the project was still completed in a time frame that would leave most conventional builders shaking their heads in disbelief.

It would be unrealistic to expect that a project of this size goes without a few hitches and these certainly did happen; from finding asbestos in the roof space to leaking plumbing to shonky pre-manufactured vanities. What was most impressive was the fact that everything was dealt with promptly and without a fuss. Most times the problem was not detected by us but by the superwoman supervisor, Renee Hunt. We cannot speak highly enough of Renee who undertook this project as if it was her own and came up with so many good ideas that have transformed what could have been ordinary into wonderful. We now consider Renee and her children as friends and we hope that they will continue their contact with us beyond this project. Sasha of course was the great dynamo behind all that was going on and pushed the project on relentlessly, even while she was off getting her well deserved Telstra Innovative Business Woman of the Year Award. Her ideas in design and interior decorating are fabulous and my message to future clients is - trust her judgement and you will get a magnificent home with more than the 'wow' factor.

The ultimate measure of our satisfaction must be whether we would use this company again for any future project and whether we would recommend them to our friends. The answer is a resounding 'YES'. I think it will be a long time before the home renovation business will catch up to what Sasha has been able to develop in such a short time; providing a stress free, quick, high quality service which, as the ad says, really does transform your home from 'drabulous' to 'fabulous' We are very happy with the result. I’m just amazed at what has just occurred. The team is an absolute delight to deal with, you know your ‘stuff ’ and what you have achieved is beyond belief. I met the team at the Home Expo on 7 March. Wednesday 9 March you guys were in my home full with ideas and inspiration. Thursday 10 March you all appeared with more trades people than I have managed to make contact with in 4 months. Saturday 12 March you had a full quotation ready. Sunday 13 March I find myself shopping with Sasha’s (CEO) full assistance for the bathrooms and the kitchen appliances. Wednesday 16 March the work started. That in itself was a miracle.

I first went back in the next day and the majority of the structural work had been carried out– having then only returned to the property sporadically the changes were just incredible and before flying off for a minibreak I checked in again and a whole new kitchen (which had been relocated) was installed. This was within a week of starting. I nearly fell over.

I returned from my trip and I was back in my property on 29 March. I have been speechless since then and I’m still genuinely in shock that this has all been achieved. You are an AWESOME company and an AWESOME team.

I make special mention of Denise, the Project Manager who took complete control of me, scary neighbours and all the trades and basically everything. I will never be able to thank her enough for what she has done. In my own life my job is incredibly busy and I work long hours, however you guys fitted around me and patiently waited for me to get there when I could.

I could go on and on. You have made, what could have been one of the most stressful experiences of my life, just happen and given me a brand new home, I don’t imagine I’ll ever want to leave. I now feel I owe you guys so much and I hope that if ever any of you are in the area you pop in for a glass of bubbly with me at anytime!

Thank you so very much for the most stunning and beautiful home you have created for my family, which we absolutely love! Never could I have envisioned or ever believed that our “little shack”, could be transformed into such a sophisticated abode, with such function, style, elegance and pure luxury. Because of you, our lives have been changed in so many ways and we truly appreciate all you have done for us.

Renovating with Million Dollar Makeovers was the best decision we have ever made. This is our story…… which is written from the heart.

Our family had been in a dilemma trying to improve our home situation for over five years. We lived in what we felt was the perfect location for us, but we had grown out of our home, which had become a bit battered and worn. We had exhausted the full circle of options: adding a room, adding a storey, engaging a building company to design a home and most recently, we were on the verge of bulldozing our house and rebuilding a custom built home. None of the options we felt comfortable with……until we met Sasha, CEO and her wonderful team. After only the first consultation, we were truly impressed This team really listened, were professional, positive, enthusiastic and very inspiring. They had intuition and an amazing vision for our home. Million Dollar Makeovers seemed different from the rest and could provide us with something that no other company we looked at could offer.

I am still completely amazed by the entire renovation process, which took just five weeks, in fact, a whole week ahead of the anticipated schedule. Sasha and her team of professionals, completely took all the stress and worry out of renovating.

Uncertain of the style we wanted, Sasha and her team offered us valuable suggestions, ideas and concepts. They incorporated the existing style of our house and our family needs, providing us with a solution that would take us into the future.

Work began under the guidance of Renee, a very capable and dedicated Project Manager, who was onsite daily. “Can’t” simply was not a word in her dictionary – she could and would perform miracles. Million Dollar Makeovers had tradesmen at their fingertips, who were honestly a different breed! During the renovation, these “tradies” were punctual, efficient and reliable, demonstrating a high level of expertise in their respective trades. They worked at incredible speed harmoniously together, delivering high quality work, within the time frame promised….and all with a smile!

We watched the first three weeks of our renovation, which progressed at lightning speed. We then went away overseas on a family cruise around the Baltic Sea and when we returned.….it was done! A brand new fully furnished house awaited us, which we could literally walk into and start living! I will never forget the excitement and anticipation as our plane touched down in Perth. It is always nice to come home after a long trip. This time, as promised – we had the BIGGEST surprise ever! We were showered with 8 Star Service all the way as we were chauffeured home in two Million Dollar Makeovers cars and to greet us at our home was not only Sasha, but the entire Million Dollar Makeovers team and my family. It was truly overwhelming and just looking at the front of our magnificent home and garden just took my breath away – it looked absolutely awesome.…like a completely different house! I couldn’t even recognise it.....and that was just the outside!!

I was totally amazed by the transformation - it was so very beautiful!!! Room after room there were surprises awaiting us. Sasha, you had thought of everything and your personal touch made it extra special. I was totally speechless. Everything was perfect! The attention to detail was impeccable: from the personal photos, to the fresh flowers, cushions, linen, cutlery, gifts for us, surprises for the children – I was truly blown away. A modern Parisian theme flows through the entire house. You created for us the most stunning, classy home, which was truly above and beyond anything I could have ever expected or imagined.

Our home is so functional now - the existing rooms are being utilised so much more efficiently. We all have our own space and there are so many new areas to sit and relax. Our home is no longer drab and dark, but is bright has a feeling of openness, which is uplifting and beauty now surrounds us. It is now a pleasure to look out of our windows or sit on the balcony to enjoy our view….our new home does justice to the location, which we can appreciate just so much more. The fact that everything is brand new and now works is wonderful in itself - the design, style and luxury is an added bonus. I still get excited driving into our driveway – it is such a pleasure to come home. Waking up to the amazing view, sitting out in our gorgeous garden, relaxing by the fire in our formal lounge, being in my awesome dressing room and glamorous bathroom and cooking in my fabulous kitchen….it is all more than I could ever dream of.

W e are delighted with the end result of our tired old house in Wembley Downs. The help from Julie (Renovation Designer) in our initial interview was outstanding and she certainly made us feel comfortable with our decision making. The project manager Denise was very businesslike and efficient; at times she was under pressure to maintain the timetable of four weeks, but did an excellent job of keeping the tradies working and happy. We were very appreciative of her efforts as we were unsure if four weeks was enough time to get the job done.

The tradies were excellent, especially Mark the plasterer and his team, who kept a clean and tidy workplace for such a messy job.

All the tradies appeared to pull out all the stops to get the job done clearly and efficiently. As we said, we are very happy with our new home and all the comforts we now have, and to be completed in the stipulated time is amazing. Thanks to everyone involved.

Kelly and I decided last year to bite the bullet and get our very shabby kitchen remodelled, it was a big decision and we blew our original budget out of the water. The kitchen is grand, it has made such a difference and everyone has remarked on it ... ground breaking for this type of unit really!

The result proved we certainly made the right decision when we selected Million Dollar Makeovers, a reasonably new company that had a stand at the Home Show last year. Sasha (CEO) organised everything and Renee (Project Manager) oversaw the work and Dina liased with us. We were encouraged to ask questions at every stage of the job. The best part was that the tradies were excellent and arrived on time every time. The complete renovation took ten days from beginning to end and was on budget. All up we could not be happier with the end result, the photos speak for themselves.

Our situation was 1920s house that had some renovation done in the 1970s. We decided to have the bathroom, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, study and lounge renovated in one operation.

Renovations can be difficult because the coordination of tradespersons and the negotiation around unexpected problems requires experience and expertise that the average householder may not posses.

After two other consultations where we felt that the supplier was doing us a favour, we found Million Dollar Makeovers. We were surprised at the fast response to our request for a quote and how all our questions were answered. We were delighted when we were quoted 14 days to completion. The work started as promised and after it commenced we were very pleased with the coordination of the tradespersons.

Despite the findings of a major plumbing problem of old cast iron plumbing which required a new bathroom floor and the replacement of some of the electrical wiring which was original to the house, the plumbers and electricians along with the project coordinator made a super effort to keep the project on track.

We were very happy with the painting and flooring tradespersons. The painting was carefully done and when the removal of old wallpaper revealed additional problems, these were attended to without complaint and the result is excellent. The flooring contractor was able to overcome the many different levels encountered and the resulting floor is well finished with edging to match the surrounds.

I’m sure that without Million Dollar Makeovers we could not have completed the project in 16 days and close to budget. We have no hesitation in recommending Sasha (CEO) and her team for a renovation that is able to manage any unanticipated problems and deliver a quality outcome.

The quote was delivered three days later and work started 2 weeks later. The end result was delivered on time and on budget and we love it. S ome people are naturals when it comes to home renovations – some sadly … are not! By chance we discovered Sasha (CEO) and her team and it is one of the better chance meetings we have had.

Sasha has that rare ability to look at your circumstance and house and instantly see an end product …with shoooosh (a new word we were quickly introduced to). From the moment we decided to go ahead with our renovations it was go go go. Sasha and her team move very quickly from her vision to ‘an afternoon ‘ with tradesmen which a week later correlates into - a fully costed quote, plans and a time-table to start work! Things move quickly!

We took the decision to combine renovations with a holiday. To our great joy the wonderful Renee (Project Manager) takes over and turns the ideas into a reality! Within a ten-day period the house was transformed with the majority of work on the broad brush stroke conversion completed. Over the following weeks the minor details that made the overall experience a huge success were successfully completed.

During the later stages we had the opportunity to liaise a little more directly with the tradesmen as we ‘fine tuned’ the vision. We found them to be very easy to work with, who took great pride in their work and only too helpful in accommodating what we wanted. In the end we have a house we can enjoy so much more, delivered on time and on budget and with shoooosh!

Early this year, I contracted Sasha (CEO) and her team to renovate a 2 bedroom rental villa in Applecross, to both improve the property and maximise rental returns.

I was amazed with the time taken by Sasha to both design and contact all services and trades required to complete the job. The time taken was 1 ½ hours one evening at the property where all contractors were invited to attend and quote. Quotations were either given on the evening or the next day. The challenge was to totally renovate the property in seven days with kitchens, bathroom and all living areas. There was something happening at every minute of each working day, including Saturday and Sunday. It was amazing to watch each section and room being transformed from 'ugly duckling' to a beautiful New York’ style villa.

The result was amazing. We placed the villa on the rental market and achieved a 40% return on rents. We now have a long term tenancy with tenants who enjoy the property and their new lifestyle.

Advantages to contract Sasha and her team for renovations are that the end result is certainly stylish and very acceptable to very particular tenants. Both capital gain and rental return are very evident. Thank you so much for our beautiful ‘new’ home, all achieved within two weeks. For the past few years we had toyed with either moving home or renovating bit by bit as we could afford. We managed to organise the renovation of our kitchen with quite pleasing results and then set about planning to renovate our two bathrooms. What an eye opener this proved to be! Firstly getting tradesmen to come and quote on our ideas and then the pricing – thousands of dollars difference in quotes and no guarantee of who would do the best job.

Until the bathrooms were completed, there was no point in changing carpets, flooring, painting etc.

Looking for inspiration we headed to Home Base in Subiaco on a Sunday and happened upon a brand new exhibition by Million Dollar Makeovers. I had read an article about Sasha (CEO) and her renovations in the West Australian newspaper a few weeks before and so we requested a leaflet for information.

On Monday, I received a follow up call from Sasha and an appointment was arranged at our home on the Wednesday. Sasha had many ideas for minor structural changes and décor which were very much in tune with what we were looking for and within a few days had submitted ideas and quotes for us to consider.

The rest is now history. All we had to do was remove our furniture from the house and head away for a few days as work began. We returned to find wonderful new concepts in various stages of completion. Many trades would work on their particular job at one time under the expert guidance of our wonderful site manager Renee. Without exception the trades were friendly, polite and completed their work with a minimum of disruption

Every day provided an air of excitement as we returned home from work to see our ‘new’ home evolving. In two weeks our home was complete – two new bathrooms, painting throughout, carpets, wooden flooring and finishing touches such as wardrobe interior, lighting and even new door handles. We were thrilled with the results.

However the best was yet to come – a shopping day with Sasha to buy some new furniture and accessories to complement our new look. What a wonderful, exhilarating day as Sasha weaved her magic with colour and tone to put the finishing touches to our home.

Sasha, I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us, and always with a smile and such enthusiasm! We have our dream home, on time, on budget and without having to move. It is such a pleasure to come home after a hard day at work and enjoy our home. We are thrilled with the results and would happily recommended your company.

Sasha (CEO) and her team were recommended to my daughter by her estate agent. As a mother of two small children and with a demanding full-time job, my daughter needed to refresh her house to be ready for sale. With no time to spare, Million Dollar Makeovers seemed to be the answer.

After engaging Sasha’s team, we discovered Sasha’s other qualities. Apart from her looking a million dollars each day (a feature I thought that gave her contractors some pleasure!), she added a significant value to the house by transforming it from a modest (and rather run-down) home into a desirable jewel. Walls, ceilings and woodwork were all painted, new pale wooden flooring installed throughout, new window blinds, new dark carpeting in the bedrooms, increasing their snugness and her choice of furnishings could only be described as sensual. I think my daughter had a slight pang at what she had to give up.

We are confidant that the sum we invested in the renovations will be returned in the selling price, but, at the very least, we know that someone will really want to buy this well-priced home. I can truly attest to Sasha’s WOW factor. Thank you Sasha and your team.

Till today I am still completely amazed by the entire renovation process, how easy it has been on my part which really was only having to move house in a week, then go overseas twice, that was all I had to take care of. I was nervous to start with, because I had a lot of concerns in my head that renovating brings, having done it once before (without Sasha). These were my main concerns (which the MDM team completely demolished)

1. The budget: What happens if the cost just blows out of proportion?

Basically with MDM, they get all the quotes for what you want done in a Sasha finds the best cost effective way to renovate your house with the maximum impact for the look you want as well as to increase the value of the property. You set the budget and she gets quotes so that it is realistic, and then we stick to it!! For such a big job, we did not let it get out of hand at all, there were a few extras because we chose to upgrade and add certain things that would add the “wow” factor to our house, AND it has been Completely worth every cent!

2. What if I don’t like what they have chosen for me?

I was worried about this initially because I thought that no one had the same vision as what I had for my house, but Sasha and Shona spent a lot of time with me, what I needed and listened to exactly what I had visioned and THEY GOT IT, to a tee. I could not have asked for a better result that I got. They did all the sourcing and running around for me, I just had to say “yes “ or “no”. By the way they got my taste so down pat that I only ever said “YES YES YES!” But, they gave me all the freedom to choose yet guided me with their strong forte in design and style. These girls know what they are doing, just leave it to them!!! They are awesome! The best decision Sasha made me (quite forcefully do) is the double garage door. Now I have a triple car garage rather than a carport and a single garage, very wise decision and it looks sensational, by the way. And Sash, even tho’ you are MISS BLING, (and that worried me a little to be honest at the start, I thought you could only do bling) there is not a single BLING in my house …YAY!!! That just shows how versatile your style is, and how you really listen to what your clients want and can deliver!!!

3. The time it takes to chase up tradesmen who continually do not show up.

That has been my forever experience with any trades i have worked with in the past. Not with the MDM team!! I have never seen so many trades turn up at one place at one time in my entire life! My whole street had trades cars that no one could park on our entire block!! I was amazed, how punctual, respectful of our property, how hardworking, these guys were. They worked all through the long Easter and Anzac Day weekend. The neighbours even complained about my tiler working till 11 pm every night. Nothing was too difficult a task, they could not be more helpful, and I am so grateful for these great people who transformed our home into what it is today.

4. The Mess and Clean up

Well, I can tell you, there was no mess, and no cleanup what so ever. You left me a home cleaner and more sparkling that my home normally ever was! You even washed down our stone wall!! I find that completely amazing, and now I battle myself to keep my house to that standard!!!

5. The quality.

I worried that I would not get what I paid for, or that things would be rushed and not of the highest standard. Now living in here, I think I have one of the finest homes there is. The quality and standard of the work is absolutely amazing, the fittings are gorgeous and the finishing touches (that only a woman can do :-) ) were out of this world. I love it all, and I am VERY FUSSY. You girls have just blown me completely away!

I can only say now how much I love my new home, how ecstatic I feel every time I am in it, how I feel when I wake up every morning, and when I look out of my window and see my gorgeous garden, or stand under my new rain shower, or lie in my paradise day bed. You have made my dream in to a reality for me.

I would just like to acknowledge the people who really gave their best and went beyond all my expectations.

1. Sasha, thank you for giving me the confidence to take the plunge and being so reassuring through my prerenovation jitters and mind changing. You are just so good at what you do and it helped me to be able to let go, knowing that our home was in the best hands. Thank you for generously letting my family of boys stay in your gorgeous home, where we had an awesome time. It felt like a holiday! I felt cared for and listened to at every step and you delivered exactly what I wanted down to the last cushion. You have also gone way above and beyond with your generosity in putting our family in accommodation through the whole process, the lovely gorgeous gifts you overwhelmed me with at the end. Sasha, I will always be grateful, and now being in my home makes my heart sing.

2. Shona, I spent more time with you in the last 4 weeks that you did with your family I think. You were there all the way, on weekends, at 12 midnight on the emails. You were always there for any whim I had, at every hour. I love your immaculate and impeccable taste and sense of style. I loved everything you chose for me and how you dressed up our home. The finishing touches were awesome!! Nothing was ever too hard or too much trouble. You even came to pick me up from the airport!! I had so much fun with you. Thank you! I love everything you picked for our home. Could not have chosen better, could not have a better designer.

3. Renee, you take all the worry and stress off me, and onto you. I call you my “SORT IT OUT” lady. Whatever I wanted done, JUST SMS RENEE!! You are the most awesome project manager!!! Apart from talking to you at all hours, including some lovely late 2am calls in the US. I felt I could rely on you to get the job done. You kept everyone on track, you filled me in with all the good bits and took all the worrying stressy bits out of my head and hands. And thank you all so much for moving our house back in for us, can you imagine, your builder moves house for you, what a dream!! I even had all the kid’s clothes in the wardrobes ready to go!! I am so grateful to you to just have it all handled for me. You are awesome girl.

4. Debra and John, you both brought my garden nightmare and made it my paradise dream. I went from being the worst house on the street and the scorn and dismay of all my neighbours to be the envy of the district!! My garden now is my sanctuary, we all love being in it. I cannot remember ever having a nap in my garden before, and I have done it twice this weekend. I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful job you have done to bring my vision in to a reality. And I appreciate the sacrifice of long weekends to make this happen for me. You are lovely warm people to work with and are so so good at what you do. You delivered! And I love every bit of it!

Really don't know how I would have done it without you … thank you! Having recently purchased a new home, there were a few things that I wanted to change aesthetically to it. At first, I started to do the running around myself to try to find the different options available to me and what was within my budget.

I went to paint shops, and from one flooring shop to the next, one kitchen idea display centre after another etc. The more I shopped around the more confused I became with almost all retailers offering me their varied opinions on different products and options, along with the disappointing length of time I would have to wait to have the various jobs carried out with the individual trades.

The advice I was offered was “you need to paint before you do the floors, you need to do the kitchen before you start the …” the list went on and on! My need was to get these changes done as quickly as possible, as well as working within the budget that I had. This was getting way too consuming and overwhelming to me and I just didn’t know where to start!

I didn't need to do a thing … other than the initial meeting! You organised the whole renovation for me – just so effortless on my behalf. You project managed my whole renovation from start to finish – even down to the cleaning of the windows at the end. I had new wood floors laid, a total kitchen makeover, freshly painted throughout, new blinds, the most stunning lighting and all this completed within 5 days! Just an absolute dream!

I am just so thrilled with the end result and what a difference it has made, to not only the look of my home, but the amount of money my home has increased in market value since I had my makeover done its quite unbelievable.

If there was ever a person who could perform miracles it was Sasha (CEO) and her relentless team. We had 14 days in which to practically demolish the internal part of the house and re-build.

We had been through building a new home a few years prior and didn’t want to go through this again. The quickest and easiest option was to find an existing home but what we didn’t realise is that the house on our new big backyard would be over 50 years old and probably still with the original wallpaper and carpet.

We wanted to let you know how happy we are with the work that you and your team have done with our house in less than four weeks. It started with Shona who was so enthusiastic and accommodating about the whole process. We can't even count the number of cups of herbal tea we drank together until midnight. It continued with Renee who was so energetic throughout the renovation and amazed us with her capability, memory and attention to detail. We actually wanted to adopt her (the offer is still open, Renee...). We were also extremely impressed with your tradesmen, especially with Shane, Mike and Peter who were so patient with us and did every job to perfection (we know we're hard to please...). And the flowers you sent when my Mum passed away. We will never forget this. We know that no other company would have done the same and we appropriate it very much!!
